The trip to Provo was difficult, we all tried not to cry. It's good I sat in the front seat where he could not see the tears falling. Once we got to Provo, we went to eat at Golden Coral. We all were a little nervous and wishing the time would go by slower. However, Tiera ate enough chocolate from the chocolate fountain to last a lifetime! It was funny to watch Braxton trying to stay clear of those chocolate fingers. After we ate lunch, we navigated through all the road construction to finally find the MTC with five minutes to spare.
There were so MANY missionaries! It was like directing traffic after a major concert! It was so awesome to see! The Lord's work is definitely going forward! It was with mixed emotions that we dropped Braxton off to the MTC. We stopped at stop #1, figures we would be the first in line, no time to procrastinate! It was just like everyone had warned us it would be. I only had time to snap 3 pictures and everyone gave a quick hug and he was gone. I guess that was good, because talking would have been tough anyway, we were all trying really hard not to cry.
Wanted to zero in on that smile. This smile is helping me get through my heartache right now!
He seemed so very happy when he walked off with his host to start his 2 year adventure! The tears came like a flood once we got back in the car. It's funny what a mixture of emotions we all went through. We were so happy and so sad at the same time. We are sad to say goodbye to someone we love with all our hearts. But at the same time, we were so proud of everything that he has done up to this point in his life, all the decisions along the way that have made it possible for him to serve the Lord and the people of Japan.
Elder Goff is going to be a GREAT missionary!
